New to Wagga Pilgrim?
We know it can be a bit daunting coming to church for the first time. Walking into a new place filled with unfamiliar faces can be a nerve-wracking experience! But don’t worry, everyone here is ready to welcome you with open arms. Take your time to settle in, and know that you’re not alone in this journey.
What to expect:
The format of the Sunday worship service in English depends on who’s leading it. Sometimes we have a visiting Minister of the Word, other times it’s a member of our team of experienced lay worship leaders, or a streamed service from another Uniting Church.
We offer contemporary music, and we usually stand to sing, though it’s always up to you to decide on the day. Sometimes we have musicians and other times we use multimedia.
We always acknowledge that we gather in Wiradjuri country and respect their custodianship of this earth long before we set foot on it.
When we celebrate Holy Communion (once a month), the table is open to everyone regardless of age or church membership. We serve bread (and gluten free biscuits are available if you indicate to the server) and grape juice.
The chairs can be easily moved, so if you have a stroller or wheelie walker, there is room to park them beside you or at the back.
Children are welcome here. We are very happy for you to explain to your children what is happening during the service. We have special activities for children who usually remain in the church during services.
The building is fully accessible, and includes a baby changing table and a toilet provided for persons with mobility issues.
